The design of this heating element type is a tubular electric heater unit with threaded or pressure flange. 

Heating elements can be made of stainless steel, carbon steel and brass. 

To protect the contact part of a tubular electric heater unit against moisture and electric shock it can be equipped with a protective cover on request.
